Susan's Photo Blog
My name is Susan Ramirez and I am a student in the University of Arizona's (WILDCATS !!!) Master's of Science in Education Technolology program. This is my last year in the program. I am currently enrolled in a class called Digital Photography in Education.
I took this course because I am interested in photograpy, but have generally taken pictures for the sake of taking a picture and not really taken into consideratin the art and science of photograpy.
This blog is intended to to capture the photographs taken for course assignements. Please feel free to provide comment or suggestions on ways to take picture or improve on the picture.

Selection 3 of Required Digital Projects (group photo)
This is photo was taken in July with my Grandma Margret and my children Mary, Melissa and Angel. My Grandmother is 86 and is an amazing woman, She lives in Princeton New Jersey in what I call the Trump Towers of retirment homes. It is its own little city. Before this picture was taken she had not seen my children since 2007. She hardly recognized them, they all had baby faces when she last saw them. As I took this photo I realized the importance of capturing moments in time for me and for my children.
Selection 2 of required Digital Project ( Black and White)
On The Beach, San Diego, CA 2010 |
I took this photo in San Diego, I love the movement of water behind the bird, the texture of sand and the shadow that is cast. The sun was setting in front of me and the picture was originally in color, I fussed with it in the photo editor until I got it where I wanted it to be. I feel quieted and calmed looking at it.
Selection 1 of required Digital Photos (Sports)
Angel Ramirez #13 Sierra Vista Little League Baseball Allstar Team 2010 |
My son Angel played for Sierra Vista All Star Little League Team this past summer. He was so proud to have made the team. He worked so hard and even though they did not win any games, he played his heart out along with his team mates. He loves sports, his attitude is a coaches dream come true, he knows when he has not put a 100% toward the game and will always own his errors. I don't think i have been more proud of him that during the Allstar games. He said I tried hard and I had fun, next year will be better and we'll win. What more can you ask for as a parent? Taking pictures for this class has truly opened my eyes to the blessings in life, they are my children Mary, Melissa and Angel.
Low Light, Night time or Close Up Photo's Assignment
Close up of all the kids, I love their expressions and the color of their skin, which they did not get from me. Dad gave them the Olive skin. They all have the same eyes and nose, but each facial expression is distinctly their own. We had such a nice vacation this summer and it was restful. They helped find the inner child in me this summer, i just let go and had a good time.
